Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; Grozny-- Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, has harshly criticized Florida pastor Terry Jones for calling on his congregation to burn copies of the Koran to mark the 9th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks.
"I am deeply outraged by Terry Jones's remarks. It is hard for me to call him a minister. He has no relation to religion. Had he been a believer, he would have never made such remarks, not to mention to resort to the sacrilege of burning the Koran itself," Kadyrov told Interfax.
"We live in a small world, where distances, time, and borderlines have lost their significance. Any unwise step could lead to unpredictable consequences on various continents and in various countries. These consequences will affect millions of people. History knows not a few similar examples. Therefore, it is absolutely unacceptable to allow inadequate types to provoke inter-religious conflicts on the pretext of observing standards of democracy. This has never done any good," Kadyrov said.
"It is laudable that officials from the U.S., Vatican, and the European Union leaderships responded to Jones's plans with criticism. But this is not enough. If Jones is not quite healthy, he needs to be treated, and his soul needs to be healed. If he is sane, it's necessary to clearly explain to him that he will bear responsibility for all consequences of his provocative remarks and actions if such are taken," he said.
"Until it's too late, it's necessary to display toughness, reason the instigator out of the idea, and stop him. It's impossible to bring an inadequate man to senses only by expressing concerns and regrets," Kadyrov said.
